Three Steps to Build A Million Dollar Company
A few years back I was sitting in a lecture in which a man who had developed a very successful business selling products around the world gave us his 3 key points for success in the workplace. Although his points somewhat challenge traditional thinking, remember that he was successful by living this formula. Here are his three key steps to succeed with my thoughts:
1. What a unique concept! When most of us create a business plan, we divide the population and the rest on our laurels! The man was in favor of seeing the players who should be and measure ownership based on how much the value of individuals contributed.
Although this tactic may be okay if you are self-financing of the company, there are dangers in this strategy that you will want to be aware of. Do you think you have a good relationship with the people you are in business. There is nothing that someone else worth. You may not see eye to eye when it comes down to allocating equity. I have used this principle even to a certain extent. I prefer to let a company get together before sharing ownership up. I’ve had too many partners fall off prematurely or not display the talents, contacts and engage those professed to have. Read the rest of this entry »
What is Franchising
A franchise (or license or concession) is the establishment of legal and commercial relationship between the owner of a trademark, service mark, trade name of a business or advertising symbol and an individual or group to use any of them to identify your business. The franchise governs the method for doing business between the two parties. Generally, the franchise sells goods or services provided by the dealer or otherwise they meet quality standards of the franchise.
A franchise is based on mutual trust between the franchisee and dealer. The franchisee provides the business expertise (marketing plans, management guidance, financial aid, location of the establishment, training, etc.) That otherwise would not be the dealer service. These in turn provide the franchise operation the entrepreneurial spirit and driving force necessary for the franchise to succeed. Read the rest of this entry »
Investment Advice Part 2
Do not analyze too much
You look good investment before you invest, but not to the extreme of being too cautious and want to inform, analyze, prepare and plan things too much.
The reason for this is that you could fall into what is known as “paralysis by analysis” and allow the opportunity and what is worse, let someone else take it.
You analyze before investing, and tell you the conviction to invest, you should do it without losing time.
Have an exit strategy
When you invest you should always have an exit strategy, either to avoid the risk of losing your money, or if things do not go as planned.
For example, you might decide you will sell your investment at some point Read the rest of this entry »

Preparing a Business
Preparing a business went quite smoothly. It did not change much. We have a whole evening to discuss the franchise structure and also we have contacted a solicitor and an accountant. Olof knew me well, I knew I could work with him. He has written and cents, I am of the great lines and ideas. I’m at least not dare dream that the company now, after three years, although some size would have.
What was disappointing was that the first year we have turned a loss. There were more expensive than we had budgeted. It is difficult to focus the budget to put down, I still find it difficult to assess the costs and benefits properly weigh. What I liked most favorable to their own business think, is that I do not need to make accountable to management. If the sale of a farm does not go ahead, I had previously explained from start to finish. While I now believe: that sales are still a few months now. It’s me better than expected so that customers have responded positively to the name change. The move to Tynaarlo has been a good move. Farmers know to find us, they often come along for a coffee drink.
Other tips for starters? If you feel that you’re an entrepreneur, offer each market opportunities. Get out of your own power and grab opportunities. “
Franchisee is a New Business Option
From that moment the idea of playing for myself first. Gerard Pon said that I was with a colleague, Olof Kroes, the company would take over. In short: he has helped us enormously and from January 2007 Olof and I were owners. We were then in Garnwerd. A year later we moved to Tynaarlo: nice centrally in the northern Netherlands and very accessible, close to the A28. With the move we changed the name. We wanted more than just farm broker. We did a lot more, such as relocation and emigration assistance. Because Agripon had a good name, we wanted the first part of the name of love. For example, the Plaza became Agri.

In the seven years in Agripon Olof and I have thirty estate agents come and go. We would not, that unrest. That’s not good for customers. We have therefore devised a franchise structure. That’s very good. We have arranged everything for franchisees: website, buy contacts, they take advantage of our facilities, backup and knowledge, you name it. Our franchise broker is essentially only a laptop, a mobile phone and its network. Except that I am co-Olof give leadership to the company, I own a franchisee of Drenthe.
